MyU Portal
MyU is a web portal. It will help you organize and navigate through the millions of pages of electronic resources available from the U of M. The Portal allows you to get personalized information, interact with friends and colleagues, access your email and web-based courses, as well as create and distribute dynamic web content.
WebVista (via the MyU Portal)
WebVista (formerly known as "WebCT Vista") is the University's course management software that enables instructors to create and manage Web-based learning materials and activities. Students use WebVista to access these materials and participate in learning activities via the Web. WebVista is used to support both classroom learning as well as distance learning at the University of Minnesota.  For more information, please consult the WebVista Support site.  Also, you can email WebVista Support directly at webvista@umn.edu.
Moodle
Moodle is an open source course management system that provides instructors with a social constructionist pedagogical alternative to WebVista. Students use Moodle to access course materials and participate in learning activities much the same as with WebVista. The tools available in Moodle have an emphasis on group work, collaboration, communication, sharing, activities, and critical reflection. Moodle is widely used in the Minnesota K-12 system.  For more information, please consult the Moodle Support site. Also, you can email Moodle Support directly at moodle@umn.edu.
CEHD Survey Tool (new!)
The CEHD Survey Tool is the new survey tool used within the College of Education and Human Development. Users may utilize this tool to deliver web-based surveys, collect data from survey participants, export data into CSV or SPSS format, analyze results and generate new analyses on the tool itself.  This tool has been developed to compensate for some shortcomings in the COST system such as simultaneous survey completion in a lab or classroom setting, and viewing matrix question results in SPSS.  For support guides and How-To videos, please visit the CEHD Survey Tool Support site.
UMWiki (University Wikis)
The UMWiki is a meeting place to work on common interests. Anyone can contribute using any web browser. UMWiki looks like a normal Web site except that it encourages contribution and editing of pages, questions, answers, comments and updates.  "Wiki" systems are fundamentally editable web pages. It's a fun and useful way of communicating asynchronously over the web for many existing intranet and public Internet sites. TWiki is simple to learn and use. It aims to provide a transparent way for you to publish and exchange your ideas with others over the web.
CEHD Online Survey Tool (COST)
This is the survey tool used within the College of Education and Human Development.  It allows users to deliver web-based surveys, collect data from survey participants, and export data into useable formats for manipulation and analysis with software such as MS Excel or SPSS.
UMConnect (Formerly Adobe Breeze)
UMConnect enables University faculty, staff, and eligible graduate students to create content for the web and to facilitate communication, collaboration, and teaching and learning over the web through web conferences and webcasts. Students can use UMConnect to view UMConnect content and to participate in web conferences and webcasts.  UMConnect support can be reached at umconnect@umn.edu.
