Project

What is a Project?

Is there an technology enhanced learning idea you've wanted to implement in your class, but didn't have the time and technical ability to complete? Academic Technology Services will manage the project, provide the technical development services, and collaborate with you on the instructional design of the project.

Criteria

We are looking to develop feasible and sustainable projects which match departmental priorities and impact a large number of students. Some items we will be considering:
  • Cost (time & money)
  • Scope
  • Is ATS the right place to develop this project?
  • Staff time (determine team)
  • Impact on students
  • Long-term use?
  • Timeline
  • Technical skills needed
  • infrastructure needed (can existing infrastructure be used?)
  • Ongoing support needs
  • Time and effort investment by instructor
  • Other resources

Expectations

Timeline

The project timeline will be developed in cooperation with successful applicant instructors. Due to the large number of projects needing development, once the timeline is developed it is important that everyone involved with the development adhere to the timeline as close as possible to ensure successful completion of the project.

Roles

The role of the instructor is primarily as content expert, with cooperative responsibilities in instructional design. The time required to provide content to the project could be considerable. Academic Technology Services will provide technical work and cooperate with the instructor on instructional design responsibilities.
