Promotion & Tenure

The deadline for submission of promotion materials to the college-level review for individuals seeking promotion and/or tenure in 2009-10 is Friday, November 6, 2009. The deadline for submission of probationary faculty reviews for (tenure-track) probationary faculty who are not seeking promotion with tenure in 2009-10 is February 26, 2010 (although earlier submission is encouraged).

Leaves & Sabbaticals

Single Semester and Sabbatical Leaves to be taken in 2010-2011 [updated]

Single Semester Leaves: Each year four percent of the University’s regular tenured/tenure-track faculty are eligible for a single semester leave.  The College of Education and Human Development has been notified regarding our leave quota for use in 2010-11. Our available leave quota is seven (7).

Faculty members seeking a Single Semester Leave must complete an application (PDF) or Word and submit it to their department chair/director for review and approval no later than Friday, December 11, 2009. The departmental deadline for submitting approved applications to the Dean's Office is Friday, January 15, 2010.

Sabbatical Leaves:  The University typically sponsors a Faculty Salary Supplement program each year.  This program provides a salary supplement of up to 30% (but not to exceed $30,000) of a faculty member’s base salary for the year in which he or she takes a sabbatical leave. 

Faculty seeking this supplement must submit a completed sabbatical supplement application along with their sabbatical application.

The deadline for submission of sabbatical and sabbatical supplement applications to the department chair/director is Friday, December 11, 2009.
